Duties/Responsibilities

This position assists with coordinating a wide variety of special projects, programs and services provided to customers of the NBC.  Job responsibilities include performing administrative duties and assisting with the technical aspects of processing storm water management applications, sewer connection permits, alteration permits, water audits and building demolition permits.  The incumbent works under the direction of the Senior Permits Coordinator to implement permitting program policies, procedures, and guidelines that ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations.  This position requires communication with the public and public officials. Works under the direction of the Senior Permits Coordinator to review pending sewer applications for completeness and accuracy, ensuring plans comply with NBC regulations. Generates invoices and receipts for new fees.  Assists with performing field inspections of all types to ensure compliance with permits, rules and regulations, etc.  Performs other duties as assigned, within skill and experience capabilities.

Education-Experience

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Education/Experience: Two-year college-level science program degree/certificate preferred. Two to five years of similar experience working in a municipal, state or government role is desired. Special Requirements: Must obtain and maintain 10 hour OSHA Construction Safety and Health Training Certificate. Must possess a valid driver’s license. NBC requires vaccination against Covid-19 as a condition of employment, as well as continuing employment.
