Manage design contracts for the maintenance and repair of wastewater collection/treatment systems, equipment and facilities. Review flow monitoring and operations data for the sewer system and the treatment facilities, prepare reports, charts and graphs to display this data. Provide assistance to other engineering staff as needed. Provide technical advice, assistance and support services to other NBC activities (i.e., Interceptor Maintenance, Operations, MIS, Legal, Public Affairs, etc.) including data analysis, developing data recording procedures and analyzing repair/maintenance methods. Prepare requests for proposals and Qualifications in accordance with NBC guidelines and review submittals to help select preferred firm. Coordinate and supervise consultant activities and submittals for assigned projects to ensure adherence to scope of work, schedule and costs. Prepare contract documents. Within skill and experience capabilities, perform other duties and projects as assigned, including basic designs using AutoCAD and GIS. Maintain accurate/timely record/ database of all activities performed. Evaluate equipment/products for suitability at NBC facilities. Prepare and present applicable portions of projected costs for Capital Improvement Program. Performs other duties as assigned within skill and experience capabilities.



Education: Must have graduated from an accredited four-year technical college program in civil/environmental engineering or equivalent. Experience: Requires a thorough knowledge of engineering principles, techniques and procedures as applied to sanitary engineering and construction management. Must have familiarity with engineering software programs such as AutoCAD and GIS. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and must be able to prepare accurate and concise reports. Must have the ability to analyze data from flow monitoring and treatment facility operations. Must be able to read engineering plans and have an understanding of how mechanical equipment works. Special Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license in order to operate NBC vehicles. Some physical exertion required when out in the field involving walking, lifting manhole covers and carrying equipment. Required to sit and use a computer for long periods of time
