Duties/Responsibilities

In accordance with NBC industry/regulatory guidelines (OSHA, DEM, EPA, etc.) perform a variety of routine chemical and biological testing routines on samples submitted to the Laboratory obtained at field locations for analysis (TSS, BOD, Chloride Fecals, nitrites etc.). Set up, maintain and as required, calibrates all laboratory testing and sampling equipment used in daily performance of duties. Maintain an accurate and timely record, and computer data base of all laboratory tests and activities performed.   Interacts with other Narragansett Bay Commission operations and support departments regarding information/ status of work laboratory requirements. Within skill and experience capabilities, performs other duties and projects as assigned, to include working off-shifts and being available for emergency call-ins, and working weekends/ holidays on a rotating/ scheduled basis. Education-Experience

Education: Graduation from a two year technical college degree program (biology, microbiology, chemistry, environment science) or equivalent required. Experience: Requires knowledge of analytical testing and sampling techniques and procedures as applied to wastewater collection, processing and discharge.
