Each year, the Narragansett Bay Commission sponsors a poster contest for elementary students in grades K-6. Although the theme of the poster contest varies from year to year, the focus on the importance of clean water remains constant. One winning artist in each grade level receives a $100 cash prize and all winning entries are featured on the NBC calendar, which is distributed to all elementary schools in the NBC service area, as well as to all elected officials. In addition, the winning posters are exhibited at a local art gallery.
