Duties/Responsibilities

Provides day-to-day technical assistance and administrative support to NBC’s Technical Analysis & Compliance Section with respect to fulfilling the commitments of grant funded projects, conducting Pollution Prevention technical assistance activities, developing and maintaining relevant records and databases, and assisting NBC staff with achieving and maintaining cost effective compliance with environmental and health and safety regulatory requirements. Assist with planning and conducting on-site Pollution Prevention Technical Assistance visits of NBC Industrial Users to help solve non-compliance problems and promote “beyond compliance” performance by recommending pollution prevention techniques and/ or improvements to pretreatment operations. Maintain an up-to-date computerized database of Pollution Prevention, NBC Environmental Health and Safety Compliance, NBC energy usage and other information and activities. Assist NBC’s Environmental Compliance Coordinator with maintaining personnel health and safety computerized training records. Perform other duties as assigned, within skill and experience capabilities.

Education-Experience

JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILL and ABILITIES: EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of a 2-year technical college program (environmental engineering/science, engineering technology, chemical technology, etc.) and 1 to 3 years experience providing technical assistance, Pollution Prevention or health & safety program activities or a combination of knowledge and experience that is substantially equivalent. A demonstrated understanding of environmental, health and safety laws and regulations, wastewater treatment processes and operations. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
